Andrew Jackson’s presidency was unfortunately one of the most violent at this point in history. After the battle of New Orleans, he was seen as a war hero and while running for president he was seen as a common man. This made him popular to common voters while he pushed for democracy. While he was quite famous and revered at the time, a lot of his fame was due to his prowess in war against Native Americans. Many of these battles were begun due to manipulation or bribery on his part, and his anti Native American policies continued when he was in office.
